The Horseware Rhino Plus Vari-Layer Turnout 250 g Medium is a technically advanced and exceptionally durable turnout rug designed for horses living outdoors in demanding and changeable weather conditions. Its unique Barrier Technology features a highly durable 1000D polypropylene outer, which protects the waterproof and breathable barrier layer beneath. Polypropylene is significantly stronger than traditional polyester, making this rug ideal for active turnout and long-term use.

The 250 g Medium weight is achieved through Horseware’s innovative Vari-Layer system, where insulation is strategically distributed for comfort and freedom of movement. The additional 150 g top layer over the lower layer provides warmth where the horse needs it most, while the 100 g lower layer reduces weight and bulk, allowing greater mobility. The thermobonded fiberfill retains its loft and insulating properties over time, even after repeated washing, delivering more warmth with less weight for both horse and handler.

Inside, the rug features an anti-bacterial, anti-static, shine-enhancing polyester lining that supports coat health and helps prevent rubbing. Dual leg arches allow natural movement, while three crossed surcingles keep the rug securely in place. Additional features include a V-front closure, reflective strips for visibility, a protective tail flap, and an easy-to-clean wipeable tail cord.
