Hot-dip galvanized ground rod for electric fencers. Length one meter and L-profile that is sharpened at the end. Includes 3 m grounding conductor with fixing screws. The rod should be installed completely under ground.

The most common reason for low-powered fence is insufficient grounding. Insufficient grounding can be caused because of dry soil, installing grounding rods not deep enough, installing not enough grounding rods or using grounding rods made of wrong material. Sufficient grounding of the fencer requires a sufficient number of grounding rods.

Installation of grounding rods

Needed amount of grounding rods depends on the length of the fence and the power of the fencer in use. 1-6 grounding rods are usually needed. Because of dry conditions of long fence, you may need even more grounding rods than recommended.

Install the grounding rods completely under ground and at a distance of at least 1m from each other. Moist soil or loam is the best place to install the rods. Regular watering of the ground can improve grounding contact if the soil is quite dry.

The grounding rods should be installed so that there are no buildings between the fence and the rods. The rods can be installed further from the fencer by using a high voltage cable.

The grounding conductor must have the diameter at least 1mm and it must always be connested to the rod with screws.

Note! If you are going to install a separate lightning protector, remember that it will need its own grounding rods (at least 3 pcs.)
